There are lawyers with the skills and desire to volunteer their time and expertise for pro bono legal services, but who cannot cover, without assistance, the associated out-of-pocket expenses such as travel, lodging, etc.  There are also many people who would love nothing more than to do contribute to solutions, but may not have the availability, skills or expertise to do so.  Our mission is to match attorneys willing to commit to pro bono service with grants, funded by our donors, designed to pay for their out-of-pocket expenses. This is especially critical in times of crisis, when mobilization of attorneys – often on short notice – is necessary and when important legal work cannot be done via long distance.  American Lawyers Mobilization Assistance for Justice was born with this in mind.
